| Botanical Names: Cinnamomum zeylanicum. Plant/Part: Tree/bud/leaf. Country of Origin: Native to Indonesia, also found in Sri Lanka, East Indies, Madagascar. Extraction: Distillation. Colour: Yellow. Aroma: Sweet and spicy, slightly musky. History/Myth: Traded at least 4,000 years ago by Indians, Chinese and Egyptians. Caution: This is a powerful oil that should be used with care, and in small doses. Wellbeing: Helps dispel tension, so often the result of the common place pressures of everyday life, and improve wellbeing. Body: Helps stimulate appetite and relieves discomfort associated with heartburn, flatulence and nausea. May offer temporary relief for muscular spasms and painful rheumatic joints, reducing stiffness and swelling. Genrally warms limbs, assisting circulation. Skin: A mild astringent and useful antiseptic. Blends well with: Clary sage, frankincense, ginger, grapefruit, lavender, patchouli, rosemary, ylang ylang.
