Botanical Name: Juniperus Virginiana (red)
Plant/Part: Tree/Wood.
Country of Origin: North America.
Extraction: Distillation.
Colour: Yellowish and viscid.
Aroma: Woody, rich and masuline.
History/Myth: Traditional symbol of constant faith. Used in ancient Egypt as incense. the timber, once favoured for sailing ships'masts, is now commonly used for coffins.
Caution: High concentrations may irritate senstive skin.
Wellbeing: Helps to soothe and calm; can be helpful when concentration is needed.
Body: Warm the joints, easing stiffness and swelling. May provied temporary relief for rheumatice and arthritic pain. Helps ease bronchial congestion.
Skin: Excellent cleaning properties for oily skin and hair. Relieves the symptoms and discomfort associated with cold sores, scabies and shingles. Soothes skin irritations and minor burns.
Blends well with: Bergamot, cypress, eucalyptus, frankincense, jasmine, juniper, lavender, lemon, Neroli, rose, rosemary. (Combines well with eucalyptus.)
